README this file EPROMS.ZIP the binary files needed to burn your own eproms MAN_WP60.ZIP the manual in WordPerfect 6.0 format --------------------------------------------------------------------- RLC-4 Update V1.24 A lot of things have changed since V1.13 (the original and only other release before now), but most of them are internal and don't change how you use the controller. When you replace the prom, make sure you get the notch on the right end (don't go by the label). Replacement manual pages are included for the commands that have changed or been added (and for a few other commands to make the pages fit right). It should be fairly straightforward to replace the pages in your current manual with the new ones. The right and left sides should match up. You will have to go by the command names when finding where the pages go because there are places where there are more new pages than old ones and that messed up the page numbers. We will try to fix that and get you an updated table of contents in the future. The original page numbers that will be replaced follow (only the front page of each is listed): 29, 31, 33, 43, 55, 67, 71, 75, 77, 79, 89, 117, 119, 121, 123 (number is missing - it says 124 on the back), 131, 133, 159, 161. There are too many little changes to bother telling you about all of them, but a few of them are worthy of note: * The time out timers now time the receivers rather than the transmitters. * A couple of problems that could make a link transmitter drop when it was not supposed to have been corrected. * The commands to insert and delete commands from a macro used to mess up the courtesy beep for port 2. * All of the macros were treated as being 50 characters long even though 200..249 are only 20 characters long. This caused problems when macros numbered above 200 were filled to more than 40% of capacity. If you find any problems with this release or have any requests that you have not told us about for future releases, please let us know in writing by one of the following methods: * Mail to: Link Communications, Inc. 1035 Cerise Rd Billings, MT 59101-7378 Email: info@link-comm.com WWW homepage: http://www.link-comm.com Orders Only: (800) 610-4085 Technical Support: (406) 245-5002 Fax: (406) 245-4889 We are working toward supporting more remote bases. Because of memory limitations, we plan to offer a different version of the software for each general radio type. You will not receive this update unless you return your old EPROM or pay us for it ($10). When you return your EPROM, please let us know which of the following options you would like with the next release: * Doug Hall RBI-1 support for Kenwood mobile radios (what you have now) * Kenwood serial controlled radio support * Icom serial controlled radio support * Yaesu serial controlled radio support * Possibly: software based scheduler (would not keep track of time if the power failed) * Requests????
