RLC-3 Alpha Version 1.53 V1.53 alpha for the RLC-3 is not a normal software update. It is almost completely untested, and comes with absolutely no guarantees. It is not the promised "next release" that will have individual user information, HF radio support, etc. It is being released so that those that want to experiment with the recent changes can do so. If you do not want to deal with untested software, please use V1.41 through V1.48 which have been throughly tested. The file manual.txt covers some of the most significant changes. More information about using this software will be covered on the listserver (to subscribe, see the link on our homepage: http://www.link-comm.com/linkcomm). You should find the following files in our ftp account (ftp.netins.net) in the directory showcase/linkcomm/rlc3/v153. README.TXT This file. EPROMS.ZIP The files needed to burn software version 1.53. The card rom data (included) is identical to V1.45. The voice eprom data (included) is identical to V1.41. MANUAL.TXT Some of the manual changes since V1.48. CONVERT.BAS A basic program that can be used to help convert upload files from earlier software versions. CONVERT2.BAS An updated version of convert.bas. RLC3DEMO.ZIP A DOS EXE program that imitates programming the RLC-3 from the serial port. RLC3DEMO.DOC Documentation for the above. Is also included in RLC3DEMO.ZIP RLC3V153.PDF The manual in Adobe's PDF (Portable Document Format). See our web page for a link to their site where you can download Acrobat, the free print/viewing program. RLC3_TXT.ZIP The manual in plain text (no formatting). It contains the same information as the PDF manual, but is not formatted for printing or easy reading. It is useful for those that can't use the PDF version. EPROMS.ZIP should contain the following files: RLC3CARD.BIN should be loaded with offset of 0 as a binary file and burned into a 27C512 EPROM for each of the cards. It is the same as version 1.45. Checksum = B249. PROM1.BIN and PROM2.BIN should be loaded as binary files with no offset and burned into 27C010 or 27C001 eproms for the motherboard. Checksums are 1F1C and 2FFF. Socket #3 should be empty. RLC3_VCE.141 should be loaded as a binary file with no offset and burned into a 27C010 or 27C001 eprom. It is only about 77K, so don't be concerned that the file size is different than PROM1 and PROM2. It goes in socket 4 on the motherboard. It is the same as V1.41. Checksum = 5DAC.
