RLC-2 V4.23 Software * VERSION 4.23 CHANGES 1) CHANGED TIMER 56 (CW DELAY START TIMER) TO MATCH MANUAL OUT OF INITIALIZATION - WAS 4 SECONDS NOW IS 400mS 2) MADE A SLIGHT CHANGE TO THE COURTESY BEEP AND THE CW ROUTINES TO GET RID OF A 'POP' THAT SOME PEOPLE NOTICED WHEN THE TONES WERE ACTIVE. 3) ADDED A FIXED PASSWORD OPTION TO THE PASSWORD SYSTEM. THERE ARE NOW 2 TYPES OF PASSWORDS. 1) FIXED PASSWORD WITH THE LENGTH DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF DIGITS YOU ENTER IN COMMAND 004. IF YOU ENTER 5 DIGITS WITH COMMAND 004 THEN YOUR FIXED PASSWORD LENGTH IS 5 DIGITS. 2) CHALLENGED PASSWORDS WITH A PRESET LENGTH OF 4 DIGITS WITH THE DIGITS DERIVED FROM THE DIGIT TABLE ENTERED WITH COMMAND 004. THERE ARE CHANGES TO 2 COMMANDS AND 1 ADDED COMMAND. THE CHANGES ARE AS FOLLOWS: COMMAND 004 - COMMAND 004 NOW TAKES VARIABLE LENGTH ADDITIONAL DATA. IF YOU ENTER 16 DIGITS OF ADDITIONAL DATA THEN THE CONTROLLER AUTOMATICALLY SETS ITSELF UP FOR CHALLENGED PASSWORD ACCESS. THE USER MUST EXECUTE COMMAND 005 TO REQUEST ACCESS INTO THE CONTROLLERS LOCKED COMMANDS. THIS IS THE WAY THE CONTROLLER ALWAYS HAS ACTED FOR UNLOCK ACCESS. - IF YOU GIVE COMMAND 004 LESS THAN 16 DIGITS BUT NOT MORE THAN 15 DIGITS OF ADDITIONAL DATA THE CONTROLLER AUTOMATICALLY SETS ITSELF FOR FIXED PASSWORD ACCESS. IN FIXED ACCESS THE LENGTH OF THE ACCESS PASSWORD IS DETERMINED BY HOW MUCH ADDITIONAL DATA YOU GIVE TO COMMAND 004. IF YOU GIVE COMMAND 004 BETWEEN 1 AND 15 DIGITS THEN YOUR PASSWORD WILL BE BETWEEN 1 AND 15 DIGITS LONG. THE USER MUST EXECUTE COMMAND 026 TO REQUEST ACCESS INTO THE CONTROLLERS LOCKED COMMANDS. THIS IS THE NEW FIXED PASSWORD SYSTEM. COMMAND 005 - IF YOU EXECUTE THIS COMMAND AND GET THE VOICE ERROR 'LOCK CODE ERROR' THEN THE CONTROLLER IS SET-UP FOR FIXED PASSWORD ACCESS. TO GO BACK TO CHALLENGED PASSWORD ACCESS ENTER COMMAND 004 FOLLOWED BY 16 DIGITS. COMMAND 026 - THIS NEW COMMAND IS THE FIXED PASSWORD ACCESS COMMAND. THIS COMMAND ONLY WORKS WHEN THE CONTROLLER IS SET-UP FOR FIXED PASSWORD ACCESS. IF YOU EXECUTE THIS COMMAND AND GET THE VOICE ERROR 'LOCK CODE ERROR' THEN THE CONTROLLER IS SET-UP FOR CHALLENGED PASSWORD ACCESS. TO GO BACK TO FIXED PASSWORD ACCESS ENTER COMMAND 004 FOLLOWED BY YOUR FIXED PASSWORD THAT RANGE FROM 1 TO 15 DIGITS. 3) CHANGED 1 EVENT AND ADDED 2 NEW EVENTS INTO THE EVENT TABLE. THE ADDED EVENTS NUMBER 106 AND 107. THE CHANGED EVENT IS EVENT 100. NOW WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING POLITE VOICE MESSAGES SEPERATE EVENTS ARE CALLED FOR THE SEPERATE PORTS. THIS ALLOWS DIFFERENT MESSAGES TO BE USED AND DIFFERENT AUDIO ROUTING INFO. TO BE ATTACHED FOR EACH DIFFERENT PORT. NOW IF YOU ARE RUNNING SEPERATE PORTS AND YOU WANT SEPERATE CW MESSAGES FOR THE DIFFERENT PORTS YOU SIMPLY USE THE ADDED NEW EVENTS. - EVENT 100 IS THE EVENT CALLED WHEN WORD '734' IS SPOKEN AND THE MESSAGE IS INTERRUPTED. THIS EVENT IS CALLED AND IN-TURN CALLS YOUR CW MESSAGE FOR THAT PORT. THIS EVENT CORRESPONDS TO PORT 1 - EVENT 106 IS THE SAME AS EVENT 100 EXCEPT IT CORRESPONDS TO PORT 2 - EVENT 107 IS THE SAME AS EVENT 100 EXCEPT IT CORRESPONDS TO PORT 3 4) CLEARED THE POLITE VOICE FLAG 'WORD 734' THAT SOMETIMES DID NOT GET CLEARED DURING A POLITE VOICE MESSAGE. ********************************************************************************* ****** THIS UPDATE REQUIRES RE-INITIALIZATION BECAUSE OF THE ADDED EVENTS ******* ****** YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR PROGRAMMING AFTER INITIALIZATION. ******* ********************************************************************************* This directory should contain the following files: readme this file eproms.zip the files needed to burn your own V4.23 eproms for the RLC-2 and RLC-2a. The NEW manual is V4.21 Notes: To install the update you need to unzip eproms.zip and burn two 27C512 eproms, one with the voice data and one for the main program rom. After installing the new roms, power up the controller while holding down the initialization button on the circuit board. This will set everything up for factory defaults. You can then begin programming. You may not have to reinitialize the controller if you are upgrading from a relatively recent version (4.00 or later). eproms.zip contains: voice401.bin - Binary file for the voice rom rlc2a423.icm - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface rlc2a423.kwd - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface rlc2a423.yas - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Yaesu HF interface rlc2_423.icm - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface rlc2_423.kwd - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface rlc2_423.yas - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Yaesu HF interface Note: if your controller serial number is 150 or later, it is an RLC-2a rather than a RLC-2.
