RLC-2 V4.17 Software

1) ADDED SERIAL DISPLAY MODE USING COMMAND 069
	- ALLOWS DATA OUTPUT EVERY SECOND FOR THE DOS BASED FRONT PANEL
	  DISPLAY UTILITY (SEE THE FTP SITE SHORTLY)

		FORMAT: 069 X D OR UNKEY
			WHERE 'X' IS THE CONTROL BIT
				1 = ENABLE SERIAL OUTPUT
				0 = DISABLE SERIAL OUTPUT
		DEFAULT: SERIAL DISPLAY OUTPUT IS DISABLED

A NEW REALLY 'BASIC' FRONT PANEL DISPLAY PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE FOR THE RLC-2
SERIES CONTROLLER.  THE FILE NAME IS: STATUS2.EXE  THE SOFTWARE REQUIRES
9600 BAUD SERIAL IN ORDER TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY.  COMMAND LINE SET-UP FOR
YOUR SPECIFIC COM PORT IS ALSO PROVIDED.

TO SELECT A COM PORT FOR THE STATUS DISPLAY:  STATUS2 X <ENTER>
   WHERE 'X' IS THE NEEDED COM PORT
      *** DO NOT REQUEST A COM PORT YOUR SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE.	IT WILL HANG
	  YOUR COMPUTER AND REQUIRE A RESET ***

TO EXIT THE STATUS PROGRAM, HIT ANY KEY...

2) CHANGED THE ORDER OF COMMAND 001 SO IT MATCHES THE MANUAL

3) CHANGED THE INITIALIZATION OF THE PASSWORD TABLE TO MATCH THE MANUAL

This directory should contain the following files:

readme             this file
eproms.zip         the files needed to burn your own V4.17 eproms
                   for the RLC-2 and RLC-2a.
status2.zip        serial status screen - simulates the LED display

                  The manual is the same as V4.14

Notes:

  To install the update you need to unzip eproms.zip and burn two 27C512
  eproms, one with the voice data and one for the main program rom.
  After installing the new roms, power up the controller while holding
  down the initialization button on the circuit board.  This will set
  everything up for factory defaults.  You can then begin programming.
  You may not have to reinitialize the controller if you are upgrading
  from a relatively recent version (4.00 or later).

  eproms.zip contains:
    voice401.bin - Binary file for the voice rom
    rlc2a417.icm - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface
    rlc2a417.kwd - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface
    rlc2a417.yas - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Yaesu HF interface
    rlc2_417.icm - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface
    rlc2_417.kwd - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface
    rlc2_417.yas - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Yaesu HF interface

        Note:  if your controller serial number is 150 or later, it
        is an RLC-2a rather than a RLC-2.  There is no functional
        difference, but the software is slightly different.

PDF is Adobe's Portable Document Format.  This is a format that can be
viewed and/or printed from DOS, Windows, Macintosh, and Unix systems
using the appropriate version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader. Acrobat is
freely distributable;  you can download it from Adobe's ftp site.  If
you have difficulty with their site, let me know and we may be able to
post the reader ourselves.  You may be able to download the viewer
and/or manual files using your WWW browser. All of the applicable
addresses are listed below.
