RLC-2 V4.03 Beta Please note that this is beta software - it probably has bugs !!!! Use it at your own risk!!!! Changes since V4.02 VERSION 4.03 BETA CHANGES 1) ADDED OUTPUT LINE PULSING COMMAND - COMMAND NAME IS 110 -- FORMAT IS 110 X Y -- WHERE 'X' IS THE OUTPUT LINE FROM 1..8 -- WHERE 'Y' IS THE NUMBER OF TIMES TO PULSE THE OUTPUT LINE FROM 1..9 2) FIXED THE HANG TIMERS BEING TO LONG - HANG TIMERS ARE STARTED UPON PTT-OFF REQUEST -- IF A COURTESY BEEP IS SENT, THE HANG TIMER IS RE-STARTED UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE C.B. SEQUENCE -- IF A DROP-OUT MESSAGE EVENT IS ENABLED THE HANG TIMER IS RE-STARTED UPON COMPLETION OF THOSE EVENTS 3) REMOVED INTERNAL DEBUGGING SERIAL PRINT TEXT 4) FIXED ROTATING ID EVENTS FOR PORT 2, PORT3. 5) FIXED THE TIME-OUT TIMER MESSAGE THAT SPOKE LOTS... OF TIMES AT THE 30 SEC. POINT. THE MESSAGE NOW SPEAKS ONCE AT 30 SECONDS. IF A RECEIVER DOES TIME-OUT, THE CONTROLLER WILL SPEAK THE TIME-OUT TIMER EVENT (027,028,029) THEN TIME-OUT. WHEN THE TIME-OUT CLEARS THE CONTROLLER WILL AGAIN FETCH THOSE EVENTS TO INDICATE A TIME-OUT HAS OCCURRED. 6) ADDED TIME-OUT TIMER MESSAGE EVENTS FOR THE AUTOPATCH AND FOR THE CONTROL RX. THESE EVENTS ARE CALLED IN THE SAME MANNER AS EVENTS 027,028,029. THE NEW EVENTS ARE NUMBERS 102 FOR THE AUTOPATCH, AND 103 FOR THE CONTROL RECEIVER. 7) DISABLED COMMAND 023. IT NOW SPEAKS "ADVISE NOT CURRENT" 8) FIXED THE DTMF COVER TONE LENGTH. TONE NOW ENDS WHEN A COMMAND IS EXECUTE 9) ADDED COMMAND 003. THIS COMMAND ALLOWS THE USER TO ENABLE\DISABLE THE SPEAKING OF SYSTEM ERRORS. THESE ERRORS ARE TYPICALLY USED FOR PROGRAMMING ONLY. THE GENERAL USER IS NOT GOING TO UNDERSTAND "ERROR 9"... FORMAT: 003 X * OR UNKEY WHERE X IS THE CONTROL VARIABLE 1 - ENABLES ERROR SPEAKING 0 - DISABLES ERROR SPEAKING 10) HAD TO REMOVE THE VOICE WORDS BEING SENT SERIALLY. THIS FEATURE REQUIRED OVER 10% OF THE SYSTEM MEMORY TO PROVIDE WORD PRINTING. THE WORDS ARE REPLACED BY THE WORD NUMBERS IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT: (XXX) WHERE XXX IS THE WORD NUMBER. WE NEEDED THE MEMORY FOR THE LARGE VOICE MAIL BASED DVR SYSTEM. SORRY.... 11) REMOVED COURTESY BEEP EVENTS FROM THE CALLING PORT WHEN AN AUTOPATCH IS ACTIVE. Other Notes: There is a known bug that can cause transmitters to lock on the air. The transmitter lockup can be resolved by resetting the controller (remotely is one way), but that does not completely clear the problem. This requires reinitializing the controller or uploading a serial file that was downloaded with command 222 before the lockup occured. This bug seems to have something to do with using the autopatch. It happens very rarely, in fact no one outside of our shop has reported seeing it. Command 148 is the autopatch last number redial. This directory should contain the following files: readme this file eproms.zip the files needed to burn your own V4.00 eproms for the RLC-2 and RLC-2a. The manual has not been updated since V4.00, so it is not copied here. Notes: To install the update you need to unzip eproms.zip and burn two 27C512 eproms, one with the voice data and one for the main program rom. After installing the new roms, power up the controller while holding down the initialization button on the circuit board. This will set everything up for factory defaults. You can then begin programming. eproms.zip contains: voice401.bin - Binary file for the voice rom rlc2a403.icm - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface rlc2a403.kwd - RLC2a Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface rlc2_403.icm - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Icom HF interface rlc2_403.kwd - RLC2 Binary file for main rom with Kenwood HF interface PDF is Adobe's Portable Document Format.
