Demo Programs The programs RLC3.exe, RLC4.exe, RLC5.exe Club.exe and ClubDlx2.exe are command line programs that attempt to simulate the way the actual repeater controllers work. They present the user with a command line interface almost exactly like the user would see if they were to connect a computer or serial terminal to the serial port on the controller. Commands can be typed in and the program will respond like a controller would. This is useful for testing the syntax of different commands and for learning to program macros. Unfortunately, a PC does has a lot of limitations that keep it from working exactly like a controller: - Due to the poor timer resolution of the standard timer (1/18.2 ticks per second), the CW that is sent by the RLC4, RLC5, and Club versions of the program is "choppy". The real controllers do not have this timer resolution problem. Command 050 can be used to turn the CW command responses off, using the same format as you would use to keep CW response from being sent over the air when commands are entered from the controller's serial port. - No attempt has been made at emulating the voice synthesizer. There is no built-in function to allow uploading files. If there are a lot of requests for this, it could be added. Please note that these demo programs have nothing to do with "Club for Windows", "RLC-3 for Windows" or "QuickStart", the programs that allow you to program the controllers without having to look up commands in the manual. A short example of how the program might be used follows. Note that command 035 (remote reset) exits the program: ---------------------------------------------------------------- RLC-Club Reset Software Version V1.59 Copyright (C) Link Communications, Inc. 1996 RE-INITIALIZING...All values returned to factory defaults.
