Installing ADMs on RLC-3 Cards Rev B/C Rev B and Rev C RLC-3 radio cards (the surface mount versions) don't have the 4-pin headers for connecting audio delay modules that earlier versions had (because we planned to integrate them onto the radio cards themselves - it just didn't get done right away). The following instructions are for connecting ADMs to those radio cards (by soldering five wires). Connect a wire to each of the 4 pins on one end of the ADM. Connect the other ends of those wires to the RLC-3 radio card as follows (the left column is the label for that pin on the ADM): "+" = 10V. Connect to U18 pin 2 (U18 will probably be an empty socket) "-" = Ground. Connect to S1 pin 2 or 3 (S1 is a pack of DIP switches) "O" = Audio Out. Connect to S1 pin 8. "I" = Audio In. Connect to S1 pin 7. Besides the four connections shown above, there is a muting line that you may need. It goes from one of the pins on the 3-pin header in the middle of the ADM to U17 pin 3 on the RLC-3 (which is just a buffer COR signal). Which pin of the ADM it should connect to depends on whether your COR signal is active high or active low. Active Low COR: Remove the shorting jumper from pins 1 and 2 (the pins toward the center of the ADM) on the 3 pin header of the ADM. Connect U17 pin 3 to ADM header pin 2 (the center of the 3 pins). Active High COR Make sure a shorting jumper is installed on pins 1 and 2 (the pins toward the center of the ADM) on the 3 pin header of the ADM. Connect U17 pin 3 to ADM header pin 3 (the pin nearest the edge of the ADM).
